As founder and business partner with Structural Buildings, Al says “starting the company seemed like the natural thing to do! I still love to work with customers and help make their dreams a reality!” In his personal time, Al enjoys his spending time with his family and friends and taking trips on his motorcycle in the summer and to Florida during the winter months.
Doug graduated from Mankato Technical College with a degree in Sales & Management. He paid his way through college with his first sales job. After college, he worked selling grain equipment and buildings. His next job was route sales, after that he started his own tool route selling Cornwell tools. In 1996, Doug was offered a job at Structural Buildings when he stopped out to purchase a building. Doug has said “Structural Buildings is my home and I will never look back. I have watched Structural Buildings continue to grow and diversify, and am very proud to be a part of its success”. Doug and his wife Julie live in Becker, MN and they have three children. His favorite hobbies include fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling.
Greg grew up in the Anoka county area and still lives there today with his wife Sarah and their two daughters Allie and Hannah. He started his career in sales 30+ years ago and has 20+ years of experience as a General Manager. Greg stated that he ” joined Structural Buildings because they have proven themselves as a stable sustainable company through strong and weak economic times. They have a rich tradition in building quality construction and thousands of satisfied customers. My goal is to help continue growth, diversification and expansion into new markets for Structural Buildings.” In his free time, he enjoys time with his family, trying new restaurants, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, motorcycling, and boating.

My name is Amanda Helm, the Marketing and Event Coordinator for Structural Buildings. After over 8 years of marketing for a non-profit in Minneapolis, I was excited for this career change to be closer to home. My passion in marketing is sparked by the creativity and “out-of-the-box” work environment it brings. Since starting with Structural, I have quickly fallen in love with post-frame construction and our talented team. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband Travis and our two sons Hunter and Oliver. We enjoy fishing, hiking, traveling, and playing with our dog, Buddy.
Sara has been with Structural Buildings since June 2021. She has 25+ years of administrative experience and 18 years in the construction industry. Sara is originally from Rogers, Minnesota, and now resides in Buffalo, Minnesota. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her son Wyatt and grand-dog Dottie, playing with her dog Hank, reading, road tripping, and hanging out with friends and family.
Hi my name is Sandy Barclay. I grew up in the Milaca area, but currently live in the Pierz area. I am a very busy mom of four boys, and I spend most of my free time watching three of the boys play three seasons of sports and love every minute of it. My oldest graduated last year, and I am enjoying watching him spread his wings. I am an avid football and baseball fan! Fishing, camping, and bonfires are some of my happy things I enjoy in life, along with spending as much time outdoors as I can, traveling, going on mini adventures, and spending time with family. I am very excited to be a part of the Structural Buildings team, and I am looking forward to where this road leads!
Jeff has been in the construction industry for more than 35 years. He stated that he has “had the opportunity to work with some great people who share my passion for building” a variety of buildings, ranging from cabin additions, custom housing, and commercial projects. Jeff said he thinks “Structural Buildings is an extremely unique company. From the ownership group, managerial staff, sales and crews, everyone has the same goal; which is giving the customer the best product available. I like to treat every project as if it were my own, and am not satisfied until the customer is happy with the finished product.”
Dan started at Structural Buildings in 2011. Dan’s favorite part of his job is observing customers’ actions when their dreams become reality. Three words to describe Dan are caring, common sense, and teamwork. If he could have a superpower, it would be the power to read Al’s mind! Dan can’t live without his family. Other than work, Dan enjoys the walleye night bite on Leech Lake and rifle/muzzleloader deer hunts.
Noah grew up in Plymouth, Minnesota, and moved down to Waco, Texas, to earn his bachelors in Mechanical Engineering at Baylor University. After graduation, Noah moved back home to the Minneapolis area to be near family, and he worked for two years as an engineering project manager in the water treatment industry. During that time he met his fiancé, Linnae, and they got married in April 2022. Noah plays competitive volleyball multiple times each week and travels anytime he can, but his primary passion is real estate. That passion is what drew him to Structural Buildings, where he can take pride in helping customers design and purchase their dream homes and buildings.
Gary began his drafting career in 1994. He later started working with Structural Buildings 1999 as draftsman/designer. Gary has said that “I appreciate having a role in making a customer’s projects coming to life on the computer (CAD) then seeing the finished buildings with happy customers!” Gary lives in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota, and enjoys golfing and softball in his free time.
Abby joined the Structural Buildings team in 2021 as a drafter. Abby grew up in Big Lake, Minnesota. She attended college at Anoka Ramsey Community College for an Associate Degree in Business, and then went to Anoka Technical College for an Associates Degree in Drafting. Abby has always had an interest in working for Structural Buildings Inc. as they are a local company that has continued to grow over the years. In her free time, Abby enjoys spending time with her family and friends as well as hunting, fishing, horseback riding, and four wheeling.
Dave grew up on a farm in Watkins, Minnesota. In high school, he began his construction career as a laborer for an electrical contractor in the summer between 9th and 10th grade. The next summer he began working as a carpenter apprentice for a home builder in the metro area and has been building various structures for the last 30 years. He says he has been doing building for so long he believes he has sawdust in his veins. He has done every aspect of construction on almost every type of building from commercial, residential, multi-family, hospitality, agricultural, and post frame. The only thing he has not built is a log structure, but he would like the opportunity to build one. He now lives on Clearwater Lake in Annandale, Minnesota, with his fiancée Megan and their blended family of 5 children. He enjoys going to their kids’ school functions and sports. When he is not running jobs for Structural Buildings, he enjoys spending time with his family and being on the lake in their boat or pontoon along with riding motorcycle. In the winter, he enjoys ice fishing and sledding with the kids. He loves the outdoors and going on adventures. If you ever meet him you will know that his family means everything to him.
Kurt grew up in Princeton, Minnesota, where he currently resides with his wife and children. With more than 25 years of experience in post-frame construction, Kurt was a great addition to Structural Buildings in 2019 as foreman. In 2020, Kurt was promoted to Field Superintendent and still holds this position today. In his free time Kurt, enjoys spending time with his family and travels as often as he can.
Meet Delon! With more than 30 years in the construction industry, Delon has expertise in post-frame, commercial, and multifamily homes. Delon joined Structural Buildings in June 2021 as a Field Superintendent and works primarily in the Crosslake area. Outside of work, Delon enjoys motocross, hunting, golf, and hockey.
Beth grew up in the heart of the Iron Range and has a strong work ethic, as most of my family were miners. After high school, she achieved her graphic arts degree and moved to the cities to pursue her career, where she had worked for many printing and marketing companies. Beth has held most of her positions in sales and project management and her additional education includes business management, PMP Certification, values stream mapping, and various account management training. Beth has also been a business owner of a painting/tiling company and refurbishing homes along with a sublimation business. Beth recently moved to the Crosslake area to be closer to her family and stated “I love working with customers and look forward to giving back to the local community in a volunteer capacity as well.” In her free time, Beth enjoys spending time with family, oil painting, hunting, and fishing, among other hobbies!
Born and raised in Moorhead, Minnesota, Zac started in construction right out of high school. After working for a commercial contractor for two years, he decided to pursue the trade as a career and went to school for Construction Management. After graduating from MSCTC, he continued to work construction for several years, and eventually moved to Deerwood, Minnesota, when his wife was offered her dream job in Crosby. Zac took a job managing a warehouse for a flooring retailer in Deerwood and shortly after began running the entire business. His favorite part of the retail flooring business was finding the perfect product for the customer and sharing in their satisfaction of taking the project from start to finish. His attention to detail and high standard of quality gave customers confidence in his ability to provide them exactly what they were looking for. Zac, his wife Holly, and their three kids enjoy mountain biking in Cuyuna, camping on the north shore of Lake Superior, and throwing the ball for their two dogs at the lake.
Scott comes to us after more than 30 years in the ice rink industry, building hockey rinks around the world. He has a degree in marketing and international business from Mankato State University. His wife and 3 kids enjoy spending time at the cabin in the Crosslake area with the plan of making this area their permanent home. Scott has two yellow labs that love to play in the lake and take up much of his spare time outside of work. Scott enjoys golfing, snowmobiling, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends on the water.
Brad grew up Lakeville, Minnesota, and recently moved to Crosslake, Minnesota, with his wife. They have always loved the area as his wife grew up there and her family owns Boyd Lodge on the Whitefish Chain. Brad has been in sales his whole career since graduating college. He worked as a beer sales consultant for an alcohol distributor and spent the last 5 years with Ecolab in various roles, most recently as a District Manager managing a sales and service team. Brad enjoys fishing, hiking with his wife and dog, golfing, and playing hockey with his spare time.
Troy started working at Structural Buildings in 2013. With more than 30 years in construction, he has said that he “can’t imagine doing anything other than constructing buildings!” He enjoys offering his ideas and goals with Structural Buildings to help the company solidify its reputation for service above and beyond industry standards, with quality products and ability to perform. Troy’s hobbies include hunting, fishing, and trapping and being apart of the Frederic, Wisconsin, community where he resides with his family.
Cassie is originally from North Branch, Minnesota, and she now resides in Siren, Wisconsin, with her family. She has two amazing fur-babies (black labs), and she and her husband just welcomed their first little girl into the world May 1, 2021. She is the light of their lives, of course! As brand new parents, they are taking in all the joys and are learning the new obstacles of parenthood at the same time. Cassie and her husband love the outdoors and especially enjoy kayaking, fishing, hunting, and going camping on the weekends! Cassie started working for Structural Buildings in November 2019. Her favorite part of her job is meeting new people and working closely with fellow coworkers and assisting them to ensure customer satisfaction!
Scott Nelson has been with Structural Buildings since 2014. He loves meeting new people, and most people he meets would describe him as helpful, reliable, and honest. Scott can’t live without his family has lives just two blocks away from where he was raised. Other than work, Scott enjoys hunting, fishing, sports, and beer – they go together!
Scott grew up in Hudson, Wisconsin, hunting and fishing the rivers, lakes, woods, and hills of western Wisconsin, which he still does today. His residential construction experience began during the summer of his junior year of college at Bemidji State University. After graduating in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration & Marketing, Scott built homes for the next 10 years. In 2001, he acquired his real estate sales license and for the past 20 years, Scott has been working with homeowners in assisting them with accomplishing their goals and objectives. He feels his current position on the sales team at Structural Buildings is no different. “I love working with homeowners and I enjoy construction, once a carpenter, always a carpenter.” Scott recently sold his 1897 farm house renovation project of 18 years in New Richmond, Wisconsin, and has moved to the St. Croix Falls area. In his spare time, he enjoys being outdoors with his fiancée Julie and their black lab Miley, and teaching firearms courses.
